Bridal Portraits Tips

Many brides like to add a bridal session to their wedding package. For those of you who don’t know what a bridal session is, it is a session of the bride in her dress before her wedding day. Here are some bridal portraits tips on why you should do a bridal session and what to bring to a bridal session!

Why You Should Do a Bridal Session?

There are many perks of doing a bridal session! It allows the bride to trial her wedding day look before her special day and make any adjustments as needed. Plus, it gives the bride the opportunity to wear her special dress again! Brides typically print a wall portrait from this session and have it displayed on an easel at the reception. After the wedding, the portrait hangs on the wall in the newlyweds home!

What to Bring to a Bridal Session?

Here are bridal portraits tips on what you should bring to your bridal session:

  • White sheet – I recommend bringing a white sheet to place on the ground underneath your dress to keep the bottom of it clean.
  • Wedding shoes
  • Flip flops – I recommend you bring flip flops to wear in between images to keep your wedding shoes clean. Flip flops are also easier for walking. My favorite location, Gilcrease, has a lot of stairs!
  • Wedding veil
  • Bouquet (optional)
  • Wedding jewelry
  • Wedding dress
  • A friend or family member – I recommend getting dressed at home and having a friend or family member drive you! They can also help with flyaway hairs, makeup touchups, and helping you look your very best.
